Visit of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation to the National Museum

Today, on 26 May 2026, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Lyubimova Olga Borisovna, visited the National Museum within the framework of the Days of Culture of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan, with the aim of becoming acquainted with the ancient history and civilization of the Tajik people.

The guests were welcomed by Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, along with other responsible officials. The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Tajikistan.

A museum tour through the exhibition halls of the National Museum was organized for the guests. During the visit, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation and the accompanying delegation became acquainted with unique historical artefacts and with the distinguished periods of the rich history and culture of the Tajik people.

As part of the visit, the guests also toured the exhibition hall of the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts of the National Museum, where they became acquainted with temporary exhibitions, including an exhibition of works by Abdullo Ashurov, founder of the Tajik school of painting; an exhibition of restored paintings entitled “Encounter”; the exhibition of works by Suhrob Kurbanov entitled “I Think, Therefore I Am”; as well as other masterpieces by prominent Tajik artists.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Lyubimova Olga Borisovna, expressed her satisfaction with the exhibition halls and left a note in the National Museum’s “Honoured Guests” book.

At the end of the meeting, both sides exchanged commemorative gifts as a symbol of respect, friendship, and appreciation of cultural values.
