The National Museum’s First-ever Exhibition in Rome, Italy
On the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will, for the first time, present the international exhibition “Tajikistan – The Land of Unique Heritage” at the Museum of Roman Civilization in Rome, Italy, on 20 October 2026.
The exhibition will showcase outstanding masterpieces of Tajikistan’s historical and cultural heritage originating from the country’s renowned archaeological and architectural sites, including Takht-i Sangin, Ancient Panjakent, the Ajina-Teppa Buddhist Monastery, as well as other significant historical monuments. The exhibited artefacts span a chronological period from the 6th century BCE to the 20th century CE, illustrating the major stages in the formation and development of the civilization of the Tajik people.
The primary objective of the exhibition is to present Tajikistan’s ancient history, rich cultural heritage, and outstanding civilizational achievements to the international community, to strengthen cultural cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Italian Republic, and to promote greater global appreciation of Tajikistan’s unique historical and cultural legacy.
The exhibition will provide visitors and scholars with a unique opportunity to become acquainted with remarkable examples of Tajikistan’s tangible cultural heritage, reflecting the country’s millennia-old history and civilization.
