The inaugural National museum Exhibition in Great Britain

The inaugural National museum Exhibition in Great Britain

The State Institution “National Museum”, has organised a series of international exhibitions to honour the heritage of ancestors and showcase the valuable historical artefacts preserved in the museum’s golden fund. Thanks to various exhibitions from the National Museum Fund, the valuable heritage of Tajiks and their ancestors is still represented in museums in France, the USA, China, India, Iran, Russia and other countries. Following negotiations and virtual meetings, the specialists of the National Museum have established extensive cooperation with colleagues from the British Museum, commencing in 2022. This has resulted in an agreement to hold a presentation of monuments from Tajikistan within the framework of the Great Silk Road exhibition, which will be held at the British Museum from 26 September 2024 to 23 February 2025.
The State Institution “National Museum” will select and exhibit exhibits related to the Buddhist culture of the 7th and 8th centuries, found in the monuments of Ajinateppa, Kafarnihon, and Vakhsh. This will be the first time that such an exhibition has been held in the UK, marking 93 years of Tajikistan’s museum activity.
It is worth noting that the SI “National Museum” is home to a vast array of archaeological artefacts, written heritage, woodcarving, decorative and applied arts, painting, sculpture, ethnography, and a diverse collection of fauna and flora from this ancient land. In the initial six-month period of 2024, representatives from 41 countries visited the exhibition halls of the National Museum.
