The high mountains of our country are an excellent source of glaciers. Glaciers, in turn, are considered as long-term water reserves and natural regulators of river flow, and are also considered one of the unique riches and sources of fresh water for the whole world, including the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan. The total area of glaciers in our country is about 8.5 thousand square kilometers, they make up almost 6 percent of the territory of the republic and are located at an altitude of 3500 to 7495 m.

It is worth noting that Tajikistan is rich in water resources, there are 13 thousand glaciers, 1300 lakes, 947 rivers, thousands of springs and mineral waters. In this regard, the artists with great love depicted beautiful landscapes in their works, including glaciers and the nature of the mountainous region.
