Opening of the exhibition “Presentation of Tajik folk crafts” in Kulob city.
12.11.2024 at the Local History Museum of the 2700th anniversary of Kulob in the city of Kulob, in fulfillment of the 37th paragraph of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dear Emomali Rahmon, dated December 12, 2023, on the occasion of inclusion of folk crafts in the list of intangible cultural heritage of the UN on science, education and culture – UNESCO and the revival of other ancient national arts and crafts in 2024 opened a national exhibition entitled “Presentation of folk crafts of the Tajik people”.
The official part of the opening of the exhibition was attended by Director of the National Museum Ibrahimzoda Zafarsho Safo, the Deputy Mayor of Kulob city Daminzoda Arafamo and the Director of the Local History Museum of the 2700th anniversary of Kulob city Zaripov Kadamsho participated in the official opening of the exhibition.
People from the central administration of the Executive body of the Kulob city, international organisations in Kulob city and others also took part in the event.
The participants shared insights on the historical evolution of learning, development and the formation of traditional Tajik crafts during the country’s independence.
The exhibition presents more than 35 types of ancient national crafts of the Tajik people from the gold fund of the National Museum and the creations of outstanding masters of the cities and districts of Baljuvon, Muminobod, Temurmalik, Khovalingm Farkhor, Vose, Shamsiddin Shohin, Mir Said Alii Hamadani and Kulob of the Khatlon region, including examples of Copper Work, Art Of Making Musical Instruments (Soztaroshi), Chitgari, Gulduzi Embroidery, Wood Carving, Kundal, Ajuba Making, Pottery, Cradle Making, Plate Making (Tabaqtaroshi), Patchwork, Golden Embroidery, Jewelry, Atlas And Adras Making, Basket Weaving, Knives Production, Miniature Art, Blacksmithing, Sherozbofi, Drum (Doira) Production, Beadind and other types of folk crafts were presented.
Following the event, the gifted artists of the Kulob city and other districts and cities of Khatlon region were duly recognised for their contribution to the promotion and advancement of folk crafts at the Republican Exhibition “Presentation of the folk crafts of the Tajik people.” They were presented with “Certificates” from the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Executive authorities of the Khatlon region.
