Opening of the exhibition in honour of Mother’s day
On the 5th of March, 2024, the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan opened an exhibition “The image of the mother in the works of Tajik artists” on the occasion of the significant holiday “Mother’s Day”.
The exhibition was attended by Zulfiya Burkhan, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan for UNESCO, students, management, National Museum staff and other guests.
At the opening ceremony, Ibrahimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the State Institution ‘National Museum’, congratulated all mothers and women in the country on the occasion of ‘Mother’s Day’ and highlighted the crucial role of mothers in everyone’s life.
The exhibition showcases over 40 works from the National Museum’s golden collection, including pieces such as Y.M. Kazmichev’s ‘Portrait of Rozia Ozod’ (1945), I.A. Abdurakhmonov’s ‘Silkworms’ (1955), A.K. Heydarov’s ‘Portrait of G. Safaralieva’ (1985), A. Rakhimova’s ‘Embroiderers’ (1956), Sheralieva S. ‘s ‘On the Edge of the Reservoir’ (1982), M.N. Shipulin’s ‘Portrait of Khairi Nazarova’ (1971), I.L. Lisikov’s ‘Portrait of Malika Sobirova’ (1967), V.I. Zhadanov’s ‘Portrait of Zulfiya Rakhmatulloeva’ (1979), and A.P. Beletsky’s ‘Girl from the City’ (1972).
The artists’ works were created in different years. They reflect themes such as craftsmanship, friendship, student life, sport and other topics.
The exhibition also features works by Tajik artists who depict female politicians in Tajikistan during the country’s years of independence.
The exhibition will run until 20 March 2024 under the title “The Image of Mother in the Works of Tajik Artists”.
