Opening Of The Exhibition “From Navruz To Navruz” At The National Museum

On 15 March 2024, the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held the traditional exhibition “From Navruz to Navruz” on the occasion of the international holiday of Navruz.

Scientists, artists, and representatives from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the State Academic Drama Theater named after Abulqasim Lohuty, teachers, and students of the National University of Tajikistan, the State Institute of Culture and Arts of Tajikistan named after Mirzo Tursunzoda, and the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan participated in the performance. The Slavic University of Russia and Tajikistan as well as the management and staff of the National Museum took part in the performance.

During the official opening of the exhibition, National Museum Director Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo discussed the museum’s role in collecting, preserving, studying, and presenting Tajik people’s historical and cultural heritage. He mentioned that 431 historical and cultural objects have been added to the National Museum’s collection from Navruz 2023 to Navruz 2024 through expeditions, purchases, and gifts. These objects are currently on display at the exhibition.

During this period, the Founder of Peace and National Unity. Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, donated a painting, a map of the Somoniyon state, a sports uniform with a ball and the FFT symbol to the National Museum.

The exhibition showcased a variety of Tajik people’s crafts, including needlework, embroidery, jewelry, coppersmithing, coins, written heritage, painting, and kundal.

It should be noted that the symbolic exhibition “From Nowruz to Nowruz” will be available for viewing until the 1st of April, 2024. Therefore, it is highly recommended to visit the National Museum to see the exhibition if you are interested in the national history and culture.
