Exhibition and scientific-practical seminar at the National Museum

 On the 6th of March, the National Museum of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held an exhibition and a scientific and practical seminar on “The role of the National Museum in discovering and studying the ancient heritage of the Tajik people”. The aim of the seminar was to explore, preserve and present the historical and cultural heritage of our forefathers.

The exhibition and scientific conference were attended by officials from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the State Historic and Cultural Reservation, lecturers and students from the State Institute of Culture and Art of Tajikistan, the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, and the Department of Cultural Studies of the Russian-Tajik Slavic University. Representatives of the mass media and the National Museum’s management and staff were also invited to attend.

At the official opening of the exhibition, Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the National Museum, spoke of the crucial role of the museum’s experts and archaeologists in the collection, preservation, study and presentation of Tajikistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

The exhibition is a display of rare historical artefacts discovered by archaeologists from the National Museum during excavations at the Khoja Mufarraj Monuments in Hisar and the Takhti Shohi in Dushanbe.

During the scientific conference, specialists and archaeologists from the National Museum presented reports on various topics related to the discovery and preservation of ancient monuments of the Tajik nation. These topics included the role of the National Museum, the history of the Hisor Valley, pottery during the Kushan period (using the examples of the Kushan towns of Saiyod and Chimkurgan), the discovery and study of the Almosi monument, and two rare discoveries.
