Presentation of the New Book “The Collection of the Leader of the Nation at the National Museum”

On September 18, 2026, the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan hosted the presentation of the new publication The Collection of the Leader of the Nation at the National Museum, held in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The event was attended by and featured speeches by Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the National Museum; Azizzoda Shukhrat, Adviser to the Office of the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Social Development and Public Relations; Muhammadovud Salomiyon, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor; Nematзода Maliksho, First Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan; Rudobai Mukarram, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Movement for National Unity and Revival of Tajikistan; Bobozoda Faridun Tolibjon, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan; Rahmonali Sharifzoda, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ancient World History, the Middle Ages and Archaeology at Tajik National University; and Sharifzoda Jamoliddin, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Department of the History of the Tajik People at Tajik National University.

In their speeches, the participants highlighted the significant contribution of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, to the preservation, study, and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of the Tajik people. It was emphasized that, through the Leader of the Nation’s sustained attention and initiatives, the collection of the National Museum had been enriched with unique historical and cultural artefacts during the period of state independence. These efforts have also created favourable conditions for preserving such objects as part of the national heritage and for presenting the history and civilization of the Tajik people in a worthy manner.

The publication was prepared by specialists of the National Museum of Tajikistan on the basis of a unique collection of historical and cultural objects that were presented to the National Museum at different times by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon.

The book features valuable objects of considerable historical and cultural significance, including unique archaeological finds, numismatic materials, masterpieces of fine and applied arts, musical instruments, and other invaluable historical artefacts.

As part of the presentation of the new publication The Collection of the Leader of the Nation at the National Museum, participants visited the “Hall of Gifts of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan,” where they familiarized themselves with the unique collection of the Leader of the Nation preserved at the National Museum.

During the museum tour, Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Director of the National Museum, introduced the guests to gifts presented to the Leader of the Nation, including gold objects, numismatic materials, wooden artefacts, works of fine art, and other valuable items presented to the Head of State by representatives and heads of foreign countries over the 35 years of state independence.

It was emphasized that these gifts possess not only considerable historical, cultural, and artistic value but also hold special significance as symbols of friendship, mutual respect, cordial diplomatic relations, and international cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and countries around the world.

In 2004, the “Hall of Gifts of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan” was established for the first time in the former building of the National Museum named after Kamoliddin Behzod. The hall displayed 31 valuable gifts presented to the Head of State by heads of foreign countries.

In connection with the opening of the new building of the National Museum of Tajikistan in March 2013, which took place with the direct participation of the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, 1,173 unique historical artefacts were transferred to the collection of this cultural institution. This initiative may be referred to as the “Gift of the Century,” as it played a significant historical role in enriching the museum’s collections. Among these valuable objects, particular importance is attached to a unique hoard of ancient gold objects dating to the 2nd century BCE, a collection of coins from the Kushan and medieval periods, as well as individual gold coins from the Greco-Bactrian, Kushan, Samanid, and Ghaznavid periods.

Overall, from 1999 to 2026, 2,755 historical artefacts and unique examples of artistic works were presented to the National Museum of Tajikistan by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. This constitutes a significant contribution to the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the ancestors.
