Opening of the exhibition “Roghun – Palace of Light” at the

National Museum

On 15 April 2025, at the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, an exhibition of artworks by Tajik artists entitled “Roghun – Palace of Light” was held. The event was organized on the initiative of the National Museum and the Union of Artists of Tajikistan to promote the achievements of Tajikistan in the period of national independence and the strategic goals of the country.

The official opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended and addressed by the following persons – Director of the National Museum Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Bobozoda Faridun, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan Sattoriyon Matlubakhon Amonzoda, Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe Odilzoda Dilbar Rahim, First Deputy Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan Maliksho Nematzoda, Chairwoman of the Union of Artists of Tajikistan Nargis Hamidova, Head of the Human Resources Department of “Roghun HPP” JSC Abdulahadzoda Saidullo, and others.

At the same time, employees of the National Museum, professors and students of the Mirzo Tursunzoda Tajik State Institute of Culture and Art, the Tajik State Institute of Fine Arts and Design, the State Institution “Republican College of Art named after M. Olimov” and representatives of the mass media took part in the exhibition.

The participants discussed the history of the construction, development and revitalisation of the Roghun Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), emphasizing that two units of the Roghun HPP were commissioned at the time of the country’s independence, thanks to the efforts and dedication of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon. This is considered one of the most significant achievements in the country’s energy sector.

Participants in the exhibition noted that the depiction of the multifaceted activities of the Roghun Hydropower Plant in the works of Tajik artists is also an important cultural phenomenon and plays an important role in presenting the achievements of the Roghun builders.
