Opening of the exhibition “Written heritage of the Tajiks” in the city of Khujand

Today, 09/03/2024, in the State Institution “Historical and Cultural Complex Khujand Fortress” in honor of the 33rd anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the “Book Day”, a joint exhibition of the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Historical Museum of the Sughd Region on the theme “Written Heritage of the Tajiks” took place.
At the official opening of the exhibition, the director of the National Museum Ibragimzoda Zafarsho Safo, the Head of the Historical and Cultural complex of Khujand Fortress Ibragimov Ibragim and representative of the regional department of culture spoke about the importance of the written heritage of Tajiks and their preservation and presentation. After that, the exhibition was opened with a cutting of symbolic ribbon and presented to the public by the staff of the National Museum.
This exhibition presents more than 30 unique manuscripts and lithographs from the gold fund of the National Museum of Tajikistan and the Historical Museum of the Sughd Region, covering various historical, mystical, literary themes and Hanafi jurisprudence, as well as various examples of calligraphy on the poetry of Tajik-Persian classics, written by the talented Tajik calligrapher Kamiljon Saidolim.
It should be noted that the main feature of the exhibited works of art, first of all, is that the scribes and authors of the manuscripts come from various regions of the modern territory of Tajikistan, such as Gissar, Nurabad, Faizabad, Karategin (modern Rasht), Darvaz, Yagnob, Khujand, Isfara and Kurgan-Tyube.
Of course, this is irrefutable evidence of the development and formation of Tajik book artisanship in different historical periods. At the same time, these works have great scientific, historical, cultural and artistic significance.
The exhibition “Written Heritage of the Tajiks” in the “Cultural and Historical Complex Khujand Fortress” will last until 09/20/2024.
