OPENING OF THE EXHIBITION “NATIONAL HERITAGE, THE GEMS OF MODERN AZERBAIJANI ART” AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM


Today, on May 20, 2025, at the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of the Days of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Tajikistan, an exhibition of paintings and examples of Azerbaijani folk art titled “National Heritage, the Gems of Modern Azerbaijani Art” was inaugurated.
Participating in the exhibition were the Director of the National Museum, Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo; the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon Amonzoda; the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Tajikistan, Alimirzamin Askerov; the Director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shirin Melikova; representatives of the diplomatic corps residing in Tajikistan; cultural and artistic figures of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan; staff of the National Museum; students of the M. Olimov Republican College of Fine Arts; and media representatives.
During the opening ceremony, Director of the National Museum Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo and Director of the National Art Museum of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shirin Melikova delivered speeches, emphasizing that today’s exhibition would make a significant contribution to the expansion of friendly relations between the peoples of the two countries and to strengthening cultural ties between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
The exhibition features rare examples of Azerbaijani art and craftsmanship, including “Mirza Gadim Iravani: At the Crossroads of Eastern and Western Artistic Styles,” traditional folk crafts of Azerbaijan, a photo exhibition titled “Karabakh: Memory of National Heritage,” and a fashion show.
