Opening of the exhibition “Youth against terrorism” at the National museum
Today, on February 4, 2026, at the State Institution “National Museum” of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, an exhibition of works by young artists entitled “Youth Against Terrorism” was officially opened on the initiative of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
At the opening ceremony, welcoming speeches were delivered by the Director of the National Museum, Ibrohimzoda Zafarsho Safo; Senior Prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, Yusufzoda Yusuf; and Head of the Department of the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee, Ahmad Ismat Saif Al-Dawla Abbas.
The event was attended by the management and staff of the National Museum, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of reputable international organizations, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, students and pupils from the Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, the Children’s Art School named after Odina Hoshim, representatives of the mass media, and other guests.
During the speeches, it was emphasized that terrorism and extremism have become serious global threats today, posing dangers to state security, social stability, and the peaceful life of people. In this context, preventing the involvement of young people in extremist groups, as well as enhancing their legal, political, cultural, and patriotic awareness, were highlighted as priority directions of state policy. Particular attention was paid to the role of youth in safeguarding peace, stability, and state independence.
It was also noted that during the years of State Independence, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has established a solid legal, organizational, and institutional framework to counter terrorism and extremism by adopting and implementing a number of important laws and strategic documents.
Following the official part of the event, participants visited the exhibition of works by young artists. Through the language of art, the exhibited works reflect the dangers of terrorism and extremism, their tragic consequences, and the importance of peace and national unity.
At the conclusion of the event, the authors of the works — young artists — were awarded commemorative gifts and certificates of honor for their valuable contribution to promoting the ideas of peace, patriotism, and national self-awareness.
It should be noted that youth, as the core segment of society and the future of the nation, must, with a strong sense of responsibility, political vigilance, and pride in national statehood, actively contribute to ensuring national security and countering all forms of negative phenomena. As repeatedly emphasized by the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, youth represent a creative force and a key factor in the development of society.
The exhibition will remain open to the public at the National Museum until February 14, 2026.
