Opening of the festive exhibition “Vahdatnigor”

On June 25, 2025, the festive exhibition titled “Vahdatnigor” was inaugurated at the National Museum of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in collaboration with the family and relatives of the renowned filmmaker, photographer, and Honored Cultural Worker of Tajikistan, Zaur Rustamovich Dakhte. The event was dedicated to the 28th anniversary of National Unity Day.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Zafarsho Safo Ibrohimzoda, Director of the National Museum; Gaibullo Avzalov, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Movement for National Unity and Revival of Tajikistan; Abdugaffor Abdujabbor, representative of the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan; Ibrohim Abdullozoda, Deputy Chairman of the Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations of Tajikistan with Foreign Countries; and Valiye Dakhte, the wife of the late Zaur Dakhte.
It was emphasized that national unity is a key factor in the development of a prosperous and peaceful future for Tajikistan, and above all, it is a guarantee of the harmony and happiness of the people today and in the years to come. The works of Zaur Dakhte reflect the bright destiny and unity of the proud Tajik nation in the era of national independence.
The exhibition was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population, the Union of Artists of Tajikistan, diplomatic missions based in Dushanbe, students and professors of the State Institute of Fine Arts and Design of Tajikistan, the State Institute of Culture and Arts named after M. Tursunzoda, prominent artists and photographers, and media representatives.
The exhibition features 200 photographs taken by the late Zaur Rustamovich Dakhte, showcasing the culture, art, and breathtaking natural beauty of Tajikistan, as well as the achievements of the Tajik people in establishing national unity.
Zaur Dakhte (1936–2024) was one of the most prominent photographers and cameramen of Tajikistan, an Honored Cultural Worker of the country, an academician of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tajikistan, a professor at the International University of Fundamental Education, and a laureate of numerous international film festivals.
Throughout his creative career, he participated in the production and filming of over 600 documentary films, many of which focused on the life and literary legacy of great Persian and Tajik poets such as Abulqasim Lahuti, Mirzo Tursunzoda, Boqi Rahimzoda, Hafez Shirazi, and Abdurahman Jami. These films are considered part of the golden fund of national cinema.
The “Vahdatnigor” exhibition will remain open at the National Museum until July 8, 2025.
